August 2016 in Review

What a month! August brought long summer days, new opportunities, and time to truly feel settled in our home. It was the first month we didn’t go ANYWHERE – which is great and all, but I am ready for an adventure. Good thing we are headed to Phoenix for the weekend!

I’m feeling so ready for fall and totally over summer (my least favorite season AND one of the hardest seasons of life so far). It’s sure to be filled with fabulous work opportunities, tons of travel (I’m looking at you, NYC, Nashville, Atlanta, Chicago, Phoenix, Milwaukee, and Houston), family time, half marathon #7, and quality time with G in MN! Bring on fall y’all!

A few August highlights:

  • I started a new job at The Blake School
  • My sweet friend Melanie was in town for a wedding and we were able to spend time together
  • Time spent outside enjoying our beautiful neighborhood and exploring the city
  • Life got sweeter as I joined the Sally’s Baking Addiction team in a freelance capacity
  • G continues to travel and excel in his role
  • Lots of cooking!
  • Grant’s brother, sister-in-law, and our nephew came to visit for a weekend
  • Football is back (!!) even if it is preseason, it’s nice to have familiar faces back on TV
  • PUMPKIN EVERYTHING – September tomorrow, my friends!
First day of work fun!

We ventured to the Minnesota State Fair – had to try Sweet Martha’s Cookies! They were good, but G said he likes mine better. #whatakeeper

Finding joy in everyday life!

We were overjoyed to hear my mom’s back surgery went well! I sent her a box of sunshine – I will post about it soon. I am so excited to see her on FRIDAY!!!
