Hey, y’all! How’s it going? I’ve debated writing this post for the longest time. Is there ever a good time to “come back” to a blog? I want everything to be perfect but let’s be honest, there is no perfect, so we’re going to go with good enough. I took a little hiatus from writing around my birthday in April… and over 7 months later, here we are! Do you like the new design and layout? I finally have an actual logo and I love it. My amazingly talented friend, Caroline, designed it all for me. A lot has happened […]
I wrote this at the airport waiting for our flight to NASHVILLE for a fun-filled birthday weekend, but of course it took me forever to actually finish it! I always love taking this time to reflect on the past month – things have been moving at lightning speed and I can barely keep up with our One Line a Day book let alone any other thoughts, adventures, etc. March was full of friends, birthday celebrations, travel, good eats, and family. I did LOTS of baking – made my second ever layer cake – and many batches of cookies and […]
Well that went fast. Four weeks ago we were just moving in! My parents were here for the entire first week of February which is kind of crazy to think about. What a whirlwind! Here (and here) are a few updates I posted earlier this month. I also shared more about my bone marrow donation and recipes for baked oatmeal and bruschetta. I made a fun little timelapse video of our move-in week! Click below to watch 🙂 February was full of change and getting our groove back. I will never take a routine and comfort for granted again! This month […]
Where to start? I feel like we have so much to catch up on since my last update 10 days ago 🙂 I’m writing this with my office window OPEN and listening to the sounds of the city right outside our door. I keep pinching myself because I never ever imagined living in the city with my very own office. I am so grateful!
WOW. What a week! Three words: MOVING IS STRESSFUL. Thanks to my amazing parents and about 90 hours of combined work (and a few bottles of bubbly and a lot of chocolate), we are moved in and 100% settled! A week ago today, my mom flew in to help us (and my dad on Thursday), and a week later all of our boxes are gone, every drawer is labeled, and every dish is washed and put away. Oh the difference a week can make! This is the first time in about a year that I finally feel like I’m home. […]
I can’t believe I’m actually writing this post. ONE MONTH (almost) of 2017 in the books. I’m happy and sad – happy because we are thisclose to being settled in Chicago. Sad because I hope I didn’t wish the days away – I really try to make the most of each day but at the same time hate living in limbo. I’m going to savor every minute of February 🙂 As many of you know, this month was consumed with moving from Minneapolis to Chicago. We made the drive down in a blizzard on Wednesday, spent 3 nights at Hotel Lincoln […]
