Moving Monday! The much-anticipated day is actually here!! It’s been almost exactly two months since Grant signed the papers for his new job. So, we’ve had 8 weeks to wrap our heads around the fact that we are uprooting. AGAIN. I think we should be in Chicago for a little bit longer… I hope! Our movers arrived this morning and already have much of our little place packed up. They’ll load up the truck tomorrow and then we wait – our stuff could arrive as soon as Thursday or as late as February 2. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for sooner […]
Hello from Cincinnati! We are enjoying a wonderful weekend with family – the dreariness has made for perfect movie and football watching weather (GO PACK GO). It was an awesome week in Phoenix! We worked on vision boards for 2017 and it became pretty clear that my goal is work-life balance and to truly live a joyful life daily. My mom and I also made really yummy snacks together – these roasted chickpeas (cayenne instead of cinnamon/sugar), this white bean avocado dip (just made the sandwich filling part, not the sandwiches), and these healthy cowboy cookies. I am starting to LOVE […]
Happy Sunday! We are snuggled in at home watching the Packer game and my fingers are crossed for a W. Go Pack Go! In an effort to document more of our life and blog a little bit more regularly, I thought I’d start a Happenings series – when time allows, I’ll simply share random thoughts and photos – which will hopefully make my monthly recaps posts a teeny bit shorter 🙂 For SND I am making roasted brussels sprouts and sweet potato soup. I finished 2 books: Behold the Dreamers and The Dollhouse – EXCELLENT reads. What have your favorites been […]
Happy 2017! Is it okay to make goals on January 3? It’s fine, right? I’ve never made goals for the upcoming year before. I mean, I guess I’ve thought about what I’d like to accomplish, but I’ve never really written them down anywhere. Especially not for the whole world to see. But you know what? 2017 is going to be different – the year I let myself be me without caring what other people think or comparing my goals to someone else’s. That’s just not fair and life is too short!
December has been one of my favorite months – not because of the holiday (because my holiday spirit was severely lacking) – but because of the wonderful memories that filed this month with so much joy! Sometime, I’d love to fill December with Christmas parties and cookies and hosting guests and ALL the holiday things, but this year just simply wasn’t the year for that, and I’m feeling okay about it. Happenings My first month working for myself – learning LOTS and finding work/life balance Celebrating the marriage of our sweet friends, Kathryn and Sahil, in Houston Spending 9 days […]
