I’m Back!

Hey, y’all! How’s it going? I’ve debated writing this post for the longest time. Is there ever a good time to “come back” to a blog? I want everything to be perfect but let’s be honest, there is no perfect, so we’re going to go with good enough. I took a little hiatus from writing around my birthday in April… and over 7 months later, here we are! Do you like the new design and layout? I finally have an actual logo and I love it. My amazingly talented friend, Caroline, designed it all for me. A lot has happened […]

March 2017 in Review

I wrote this at the airport waiting for our flight to NASHVILLE for a fun-filled birthday weekend, but of course it took me forever to actually finish it! I always love taking this time to reflect on the past month – things have been moving at lightning speed and I can barely keep up with our One Line a Day book let alone any other thoughts, adventures, etc. March was full of friends, birthday celebrations, travel, good eats, and family. I did LOTS of baking – made my second ever layer cake – and many batches of cookies and […]

Happy 27 G!

Happy 27th Birthday, Grant! Today, you are 27. You’ve done more in your 27 years than most people accomplish in their lifetime. The past year has been a trying one – you know more than anyone how hard it’s been. It was filled with challenge, stress, tears, big and hard decisions, change, moving (twice!!), three job transfers for you, and so much more. But you know what? It was also AMAZING. We traveled, explored, deepened our relationship, made lasting friendships, became 100% debt free, and conquered every single thing life threw our way. We have much to be proud of! […]

Bone Marrow Donation Update 2

It’s official – I’m cleared to donate bone marrow. Less than two months to go! I’ve connected with so many of you asking about the process, what it’s like, and how you can help. So, I’ll continue documenting my journey and hope it inspires you to make a difference today 🙂 I spent the majority of today at the cancer center of the hospital for testing, x-rays, bloodwork, and an EKG. I also met with the doctor who will be performing the procedure along with a bunch of the support staff members. Was it scary? No. I was in a […]

February 2017 in Review

Well that went fast. Four weeks ago we were just moving in! My parents were here for the entire first week of February which is kind of crazy to think about. What a whirlwind! Here (and here) are a few updates I posted earlier this month. I also shared more about my bone marrow donation and recipes for baked oatmeal and bruschetta. I made a fun little timelapse video of our move-in week! Click below to watch 🙂 February was full of change and getting our groove back. I will never take a routine and comfort for granted again! This month […]

Bone Marrow Donation Update 1

Yep. We’re talking about donating bone marrow today! I’ve been so overwhelmed with your positive responses to my news about donating bone marrow later this spring. Many of you have reached out – you’ve been asking questions, wanting to learn more about how to get involved, and for more information about the process. Some of you have even requested an at-home kit so you can be added to the registry! Well, I’m here to share my story and how this all came about. Remember, I am no expert about this, I’m simply a donor trying to increase awareness and hopefully […]
