September 2016 in Review

Well, another month has passed! As always, it was jam packed with lots of our favorite things!! We are definitely adjusting to life in Minnesota and I’m loving all of the fun fall has to offer AND the fabulous weather! I’m already wearing boots and sweaters. It’s basically heaven. We kicked off September with a trip to see my parents in Phoenix. They bought a beautiful home! We spent much of our holiday weekend planning their new digs, eating, drinking, and laughing. A perfect weekend in my book! And actually, we’ll be there next weekend installing closets and helping organize. All […]

Hello, Fall

As summer draws to a close, I can’t help but reflect on the past season – the hardest season of life I/we have gone through and I’m sure it won’t be the last. A season that was full of change, challenge, stress, sadness, and longing for routine, normalcy, and familiarity. I spent much time missing my Nashville home and family, my actual family in Phoenix, and Grant as he was gone more weeks than home. I have tears in my eyes as I write this thinking about my sweet girls and the memories Grant and made on almost every street […]

Happy Birthday, Mom!

Happy happy birthday to my amazing mama! Mom – I wish it was your birthday every day so we could celebrate how awesome you are year-round. You are simply wonderful. So kind, caring, compassionate, empathetic, and loving. You are the best listener, motivator, and pep-talker. You make each of my days brighter and I know there are many others who feel the same. I am the luckiest daughter in the world to call you my mom. What’s even better is that we’re best friends, too. Thank you for being YOU. The world is a better place with your joy and […]

Labor Day Weekend in Arizona

Warning. Food photos galore! Last Friday, Grant and I flew to Phoenix to spend the long holiday weekend with my parents. Before we left, I mentioned to Grant that it had been far too long since an airplane adventure – all of our previous summer travel has been local in the Midwest (except a last minute Nashville trip) so it was about time to escape!  We were both really looking forward to a weekend full of relaxation, family time, good eats, and new adventures. I think we accomplished it all! We had a delicious dinner at LGO on Friday night – their […]

August 2016 in Review

What a month! August brought long summer days, new opportunities, and time to truly feel settled in our home. It was the first month we didn’t go ANYWHERE – which is great and all, but I am ready for an adventure. Good thing we are headed to Phoenix for the weekend! I’m feeling so ready for fall and totally over summer (my least favorite season AND one of the hardest seasons of life so far). It’s sure to be filled with fabulous work opportunities, tons of travel (I’m looking at you, NYC, Nashville, Atlanta, Chicago, Phoenix, Milwaukee, and Houston), family […]

Kitchen Sink Bread

HAPPY FRIDAY! We’re 1 week through August and after last weekend’s little breakdown/epiphany that we aren’t moving back to Nashville anytime soon, I’m feeling much better – rejuvenated and ready to take on life up here. AND it’s almost fall which means beautiful Midwestern colors and FOOTBALL. I also shared good news on Instagram this week – I accepted a job offer with The Blake School and Sally’s Baking Addiction, and am incredibly excited to get started. Both of these positions fill my heart with so much joy and I know this means for positive changes all around. All of […]
